3rd Circuit Solidifies Sovereign Immunity for Employment Claims

This week the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals issued a decision that solidifies sovereign immunity against NJ State Colleges (as "arms of the State") facing federal employment discrimination lawsuits. (It also seems to me that the decision may signal immunity as to NJ state statutory claims as well). The application of sovereign immunity means that employees alleging discrimination or harassment against their government employer have little or no legal remedy. You can click through to see a copy of the decision, entitled Maliandi v. Montclair State University:   http://www2.ca3.uscourts.gov/opinarch/143812p.pdf
